You know who I’m quoting. Katniss Everdeen, the heroine of Suzanne Collins’ brilliant series, The Hunger Games, which spans 3 books. The movie adaptation was just released on March 23rd. Being the completely normal, totally not-obsessed person that I am with the series, I was there on the first day of opening, in the morning. It was brilliant. Everything was spot on, and the directors and actors were as true to the book as they could possibly be. And let me tell you: if Hollywood makes more movies like this, their lukewarm box office sales will definitely heat up.

ReplyDeleteKatniss is the obvious. But in the movie and the book I loved Cinna. In the movie I loved Haymitch too! I'm still unsure after all three books if I'm Team Peeta or Team Gale :) Thanks for the giveaway.

ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed the mystery that was Cinna, but I would also liked to have more of Gale. Of course Katniss and Peeta are the majority of the story in my mind so they have to be the faves :)

ReplyDeleteI saw it yesterday and it was just amazing! I was particularly positively surprised by Cinna and Haymitch - they chose the perfect actors. In the books I liked Gale and Cinna a lot. And Finnick. All characters are dear to me, actually.

ReplyDeleteI think my favourite character was Cinna because he was the first real exception to the whole Capitol persona. He wasn't flamboyant or snobby like the other rich citizens from the Capitol. He was strong and firm and was always there for Katniss right until the end. He was the reason Katniss became 'the girl on fire' and he genuinely cared for her. He was also wise and clever so he knew how to handle certain situations and how to push the limitations and fight back without going too far ♥

ReplyDeleteI loved everyone in the movie...Cinna is such a darling, Katniss...plain awesomeness, Peeta made my heart beat faster, Haymitch showed what he's worth. Cato's monologue gave me chills, so did the dialogue between Snow and Seneca...I just think Effie was left in the shadow...I don't even remember if they ever mention her name in the movie! I could go on for hours about HG!

ReplyDeleteAfter watching the movie, Peeta. Although I wouldn't have chosen him on the basis of the book, but I loved the way his character came across in the movie.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite characters are Cinna, Katniss and Rue :) I love Cinna, he was just the sweetest, and I definitely loved the actor they chose for the role. I loved Jennifer as Katniss, too - I think she totally rocked! And Rue.. Rue was just adorable. I cried a lot when she died T_T

ReplyDeletePut me down for Gale. He's steady as a rock. I love that he gets things done when things are falling apart around him. Reminds me of what my husband's attitude. Don't always like the choices, but you just have to do it.
