What's Up With Me?

Well, hey.
I just made it back from hostile territory, which is the writer's way of saying, "I just got back from a trip to the mountains." See, writers always want things to sound more entertaining than they really are. That's just the way storytellers work.

So. What has been up with me lately? Well, I packed up a car, drove to the mountains and nestled down in a snug little cabin tucked away in the heart of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. (You can see where the inspiration for my novels comes from, right?) I hiked impossibly steep hills, picnicked near running streams, read one too many adventure books, scaled climbing walls, crawled through darkened caves, and treated myself to the occasional Icee. (Because no summer vacation is complete without drinking an Icee.)

I'd also like to say thank you to the literary community of bloggers, reviewers and readers who treated me to a very special surprise (even if you didn't know it) when I came home: The Collapse Series sold an unprecedented amount of copies while I was running wild in the wilderness. Seriously. I just about fell out of my chair and fainted when I turned on my computer and plugged back into the internet. Wow. Keep it up, you guys are AWESOME! Thank you, thank you, thank you! I've got nothing but pure gratitude!

Plus, I got a good running start on the third installment of the Collapse Series while I was away. Cassidy Hart's world just got a whole lot more difficult. Bummer, I know. Good for us, bad for her. And now I'm back, and I hope you guys have been enjoying Writing Belle's features so far this summer. Make sure you check out Holly Robinson's Post about Traditional vs. Indie Publishing, and the Interview with the lovely British author Anne Allen
I'll be compiling my Summer Haul of Books (a double pun, as you can see) very soon.
